Cross Roads couple celebrate 60 years of marriage

A Cross Roads couple have been married for 60 years today.
Dennis and Anne Bottomley, of Ruth Street, met at a dance at Keighley Mechanics Institute and married at St James’s Church, Cross Roads, in 1953.
Mr Bottomley, 89, who was a clerical worker for two local textile mills, is keen on sport and played for Branshaw Golf Club until he was 84 and is a patron of Oxenhope Football Club.
Mrs Bottomley, 83, worked as a dinner lady at the old Haworth Board School. She arranged the floral displays at St James’s Church and was a volunteer at Sue Ryder’s Haworth charity shop for 20 years.
The couple have a daughter and two sons, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
