Train operator Grand Central, which runs services between Bradford Interchange and London King’s Cross, is planning investment in new service improvements if it wins an extension to its current operating contact.
The York-based company has launched a 28-day public consultation on its application to obtain the right to run trains until 2026.
As an open-access train operator, Grand Central operates under a Track Access Contract approved by the Office of Rail Regulation. The consultation will seek views on the extension of Grand Central’s current contract.
Proposed investments include spending ‘significant sums’ on rolling stock to improve reliability.
Consultation details can be found online at networkrail.co.uk/browsedirectory. The deadline for responses is 5pm on September 2.
