A charity linked to Bradford West Respect MP George Galloway is being investigated by the regulator after failing to file accounts.

The Charity Commission said it had opened a statutory inquiry into Viva Palestina.

The organisation was set up by a group including Mr Galloway in 2009 to provide aid in the wake of the Israeli ground incursion into Gaza.It has since run convoys carrying supplies into the area.

However, according to the Commission's website, it has never lodged any financial records.

Mr Galloway was not available for comment last night.
