An Aire Valley student is celebrating success at a national flower show where her team’s £60,000 showpiece won three awards – including the People’s Choice prize.
Natalie Graham, 23, of Moorland Avenue, Baildon, and fellow Leeds Metropolitan University students now plan to donate the garden to St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds.
The team, called Seven Peas in a Pod, took the Silver Gilt Flora and Most Creative Large Garden prizes awarded by show judges and won the People’s Choice award in the Large Garden category, at the recent RHS Tatton Flower Show.
The team recognised that space and privacy can be a problem in some homes. They created the Mypod Garden, which includes a domed pod which is partly underground and has a comfortable interior and LED lighting.
