Proposals to build a new community building in Silsden Park are continuing behind-the-scenes.
Silsden mayor Chris Atkinson is in talks with sports groups about what would be needed in such a facility.
He and fellow town councillor Adrian Naylor are also looking at potential sources of funding for the ambitious project.
Coun Naylor said that once the building could be shown to be viable, Coun Atkinson would report back to Silsden Town Council.
Coun Naylor said: "We're looking at various sports because in the park there's tennis, bowls, rugby and football.
"There's a new funding stream from Sport England about revitalising things like changing facilities.
"For the older age groups it's about keeping active, so there's also the potential of health-care funding."
