Keighley landlord Mickey Thompson has given up beer for a month to raise money for Manorlands hospice.
He has pledged to stay “dry for July” despite pulling pints every day in the Great Northern on Halifax Road, Ingrow. Mr Thompson has asked customers to sponsor him.
He joked: “It’s not an easy challenge for a pub landlord, a member of CAMRA and a raving alcoholic.”
Mr Thompson, who is also a TV and film actor, came up with the idea after having to cancel his previous fundraising plan.
He had called on local people to join him on Father’s Day in carrying sacks of coal round Keighley town centre pubs.
He said: “After the failure of the Coal Run and no one turning up, this would time it will be down to me alone.”
Mr Thompson, who took over the Great Northern earlier this year, has held various events to raise money for Manorlands and Help for Heroes.
