Nurses and doctors will be raising awareness of Bradford Teaching Hospitals’ dementia-friendly initiatives during next week’s Dementia Awareness Week (June 24-28).

Staff will highlight the many projects currently running across the Foundation Trust every weekday lunch-time at Bradford Royal Infirmary and at noon next Wednesday at St Luke’s Hospital. More than 5,500 people are believed to be living with the condition across the Bradford district, yet about half of those with the condition have been diagnosed.

Sister Danielle Woods, dementia project manager, at Bradford Royal Infirmary, said: “If you are worried about any aspect of dementia, please come along to the hospital and talk to us”

The Foundation Trust is pushing to become dementia-friendly and is contributing to efforts to make Bradford dementia-friendly.
