A Haworth beauty spot that inspired Emily Bronte to write her most famous novel has been named one of the best places in the country to have a picnic.
Top Withens was included on a list of the 15 best alfresco eating spots in the UK – released by the group behind this week’s National Picnic Week.
The moorlands farmhouse, now in ruins, inspired the Bronte sister’s novel Wuthering Heights.
Other spots that make the list include Rievaulx Abbey in the North York Moors, Formby Beach in Merseyside and Devil’s Dyke in East Sussex.
