A sponsored walk took place yesterday to raise awareness of the plight of asylum seekers.
About 60 people set off from Centenary Square in Bradford at 10am and walked to Waterside Court Reporting Centre in Leeds.
Those who took part included members of staff and volunteers from Beacon, which was set up out of a shared concern to address the practical and spiritual needs of asylum seekers The walk formed part of the celebrations of Refugee Week in Bradford.
Kezia Rooke, co-ordinator at Beacon, said: “We lost a few and gained a few along the way because not everyone was able to do the full route, but it went really well.
“We do it every year but there were a lot of people who had not taken part before.”
