A charity that helps the homeless has received a £2,000 cash boost.

Hope Housing provides emergency accommodation to rough sleepers through night stays in volunteer's homes.

And they also offer supported tenancies, through volunteers from local churches, to people who have been homeless.

The demand for these services is on the increase and Hope Housing experienced their busiest May since the project began in 2008.

The project has been boosted by the support of the Co-operative Community Fund who have pledged to give £2,000 towards their work over the next year.

The Fund’s Mike Woodward, who visited the project to present the cheque, said: “We are proud to support local charities such as Hope Housing and hope that the funding can make a difference in Bradford.”

The Co-operative movement is based on the idea that communities can help themselves by getting people to cooperate and support one another.
