Firefighters are currently battling a massive blaze in a derelict building.

Police, paramedics and tens of firefighters are at the blaze, believed to be in a derelict mill just off Thornton Road on Tetley Street.

The fire, believed to have started at 7.30pm, has led to part of the road being cordoned off with up to ten crews currently battling to get it under control.

Part of the roof is believed to have caved in because of the intense heat and flames.

The building alight is yards away from Culture Fusion and the Renault garage on Thornton Road.

Plumes of smoke can be seen from city centre buildings and nearby City Park.
