Dozens of volunteers at an Islamic youth association were among more than 1,500 people involved in a charity event.

Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association took part in an annual charity challenge, this year held in Willem Lake in Milton Keynes.

It comprised of a 40km bikathon and 10km run and a number of members travelled from Bradford and Keighley to take part.

As well as raising money for national charities like Save the Children and The British Heart Foundation, funds were also raised for Bradford and Airedale Cancer Support.

Toseef Anwar, a youth leader for the association from the region who took part, said: “Dozens of us travelled down from Bradford and Keighley and we were all delighted to take part.”
