A FAMILY are “heartbroken” after their beloved holiday-ready caravan was stolen 24 hours before they were due to depart.

The Bradshaw family who live in Chelmer Road, Springfield, were about to venture up to Suffolk in their four-berth white Fleetwood Colchester caravan for the Easter school holidays.

However, they returned home on Thursday to discover crooks had taken the white coloured vehicle with the registration plate S999 SNB, which had everything inside ready to go from their driveway.

Items inside the caravan, which had been wheel clamped on the drive, included Nintendo DS game consoles, DVD players, clothes and even new toothbrushes especially for the trip to Suffolk.

Essex Police officers investigating the incident have said they would like anyone who saw a caravan being towed away or anything suspicious on Chelmer Road between 9.30am and 2pm to contact them.

Anyone who believes they can help should call officers at Chelmsford police station on 101.
