Bradford runners urged to sign up for marathon

Bradford runners are being urged to sign up for the sold-out Plusnet Yorkshire Marathon.

The new flagship marathon, to be staged in York on Sunday, October 20, sold out in January – just three days after being revealed – with all 5,500 initial places being snapped up.

A waiting list is now operating.

However, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal has announced it has a number of guaranteed places for runners who would like to fundraise for the charity.

Siobhan Curtis, appeal legacy manager, said: “We are very lucky to have been able to secure places in the event and with over 500 people already signed up to take part on behalf of the Appeal it will be great to see an army of blue [the charity’s colour] on the start line come race day.”
