Merlin Top Primary School in Keighley played host to royalty in the form of Princess Aurora.

Aurora, also known as Cara, is an English springer spaniel who works for the police. She visited the Braithwaite school with her handler, Sergeant Richard Green.

Sgt Green told pupils police dogs were used to search for suspects, missing people and concealed objects. The dogs could also chase and detain people who ran away from police, disarm violent criminals, and control hostile crowds.

Sgt Green showed Cara to the pupils and let her show off her skills by doing tricks with a ball.
