Cash boost for Amnesty International Wharfedale Group

The Amnesty International Wharfedale Group raised almost £100 at a table top sale at Christchurch, Ilkley.
A number of people at the event (pictured) also signed an Amnesty International petition calling on the UK Government to address the endemic problem of fear and abuse for women and girls in Afghanistan.
The organisation says 87 per cent of women in Afghanistan have direct experience of physical violence.

The Amnesty International Wharfedale Group will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, April 11, at 7.45pm in the coffee shop, Christchurch, The Grove, Ilkley.
The group will also have a stall at the Otley Green Fair on April 13 at Otley Courthouse.
