Homes in Steeton and Oxenhope take part in National Gardens Festival Weekend

Private gardens in Steeton and Oxenhope will open their gates to the public to help raise money for charity.

The first National Gardens Festival Weekend in June will allow visitors to get a rare glimpse of the one-acre garden at Brookfield in Oxenhope and the two-acre garden at High Hall, Steeton.

Organised by the National Gardens Scheme the aim of the festival is to raise £500,000 for charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Carers Trust.

Brookfield, on Jew Lane, is open on June 15, 16 and 19 and entry costs £3. Entry to High Hall garden, on St Stephen’s Road, will include an exhibition by artist Jackie Sumerfield and display of Alexander Keighley photographs. It is open on June 16 and admission is £3.50.
