Motorcyclist who died in crash named

A motorcyclist who died in a collision has been named as a 63-year-old man from a village near Keighley.

Robert Wilkinson, of Cowling, was travelling along the A59 between Skipton and Harrogate on Sunday just before 11am.

He came off his bike as he travelled behind a silver Mercedes which had stopped behind a blue Ford Focus waiting to turn right near the Black Bull Hotel, Felliscliffe, at the junction of Constable Ridge Road.

Mr Wilkinson’s family have been informed. An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned yesterday.
