Civil servants plan strike in Bradford

Civil servants in Bradford were set to go on strike today as part of Budget day action against the Government and wealthy tax-dodgers.

Almost 20,000 civil servants in the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) Union were ready to take action. Andy Reid will be speaking at the Bradford rally in Memorial Gardens, next to City Hall, at noon.

Juanita Charles, of PCS, said: “We will quickly follow up our budget day strike with a walkout on April 5 and step up our campaigning for the Government to take serious action against wealthy tax dodgers.
