Bradford awakes to more winter scenes
10:20am Tuesday 19th March 2013 in News
Despite British Summer Time starting in less than two weeks, Bradford and the surrounding areas woke to more winter scenes yesterday, leading to cancelled trains, flights and road closures.
And with more snow and freezing temperatures predicted for the next few nights, the outlook for the rest of the week looks equally frosty.
There were no school closures yesterday, and traffic was, for the most part, back to normal by the afternoon, but the conditions caused difficulties for many on the morning commute.
Trains on the Leeds to Skipton line started and terminated at Keighley for much of the morning rush hour due to planned engineering works further down the line over-running.
And snow caused the late running or cancellation of several services on the Ilkley/Bradford line and the Leeds/Bradford line.
Early morning flights at Leeds Bradford Airport were initially delayed, but by 7am flights were suspended until after 8am.
