Man is injured after gang break into Denholme shop

A man needed hospital treatment after being attacked when a group of men broke into a disused shop in Denholme.

Police said five men burst into the premises on New Road at about 11.30pm on Saturday. The victim suffered a head injury when he was struck with what is believed to have been a crowbar.

The suspects, all in dark clothing, ran off empty-handed towards Clock Lane. One had a limp.

Acting Detective Inspector Stuart Lyons, of Airedale and North Bradford CID, said: “This incident is potentially linked to a previous one at Cliffe Terrace in Denholme on February 25.”

Two men, 22 and 26, from Keighley have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and bailed.

Anyone with information about either incident can contact police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
