Police tackle numberplate thefts in Keighley area

Keighley Neighbourhood Policing Team carried out an operation to reduce numberplate thefts.
Numberplate thefts are a difficult issue for police, as criminals go on to use them to commit vehicle related crime, making it harder to trace their vehicles.
To combat this Keighley NPT, in partnership with the Bradford North and West Anti Crime Partnerships, are offering to change the standard screws used to hold the plate onto the car with security screws.
PCSOs Alan Cooper and John Illingworth set up a stall at the town’s Alston Park Retail Park to install the screws and offer other security advice to shoppers.
