A bank manager is helping a charity after being inspired by the help it has given her own son.
Julie McEvoy, of the Keighley branch for Yorkshire Bank, is backing the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service Ltd by donating £500 to the charity, based in Bingley.
She applied for an Employee Volunteer Grant from Yorkshire Bank earlier and this year and this money will finance dance lessons for children with Down Syndrome. Mrs McEvoy also helps to manage the accounts for the charity and supports the team to organise events to help reach the charity’s £52,000 yearly fundraising target.
She said: “I have been accessing the Down Syndrome Training and Support Service for a number of years as my son, Ryan, who is now 15, has Down Syndrome and has benefited from the services that the charity offers all of his life.”
Visit the centre at 2 Whitley Street Bingley BD16 4JH or online via justgiving.com/downsyndromebradford/donate to donate to the charity.
