Pensioners' activists fears

Pensioner activists in Keighley have called for a series of measures to improve hospitals in the light of the Francis report.

Keighley and Bradford Pensioners Association was responding to findings of the report into treatment scandals in Mid-Staffordshire.

The association’s latest newsletter states that members agree with all the report’s 290 recommendations for improving care.

But it said members were horrified that nobody had been held to account for the premature deaths of hundreds of older people.

The association has called for minimum staffing levels for hospital wards.
