Queensbury man is jailed after drink driving accident

A Bradford man who stole and crashed his mother’s car while drunk has been jailed for 12 months.

Anthony Rhodes, 21, of Hillcrest Road, Queensbury, has admitted taking the keys to the Ford Focus car which was securely locked and parked on his mother’s driveway last October 20, Bradford Crown Court heard yesterday.

The vehicle was then seen travelling along Cooper Lane in Buttershaw, Bradford, before Rhodes lost control of the car, crashed over a grass verge into a garden wall and hit a parked Audi car.

Rhodes admitted charges of aggravated vehicle taking, drink driving, driving without insurance, failure to stop after an accident and driving while disqualified, He also admitted a charge of breaching a suspended sentence for arson.

He was also disqualified from driving for three years and ordered to take a re-test.
