Concert boost for Proms on the Farm

A concert has raised most of the money needed to stage this year's Proms on the Farm.

The packed-out show by Five and Dime country band at Silsden Golf Club raised about £1,500.

Organisers run two concerts each year to cover the costs of putting on the Proms event at Sycamore Farm in Silsden.

This means the entire proceeds of the main event can be shared between the beneficiaries, Manorlands hospice and Silsden Methodist Church.

Stewart Hanson, one of the organisers, describes the Five and Dime concert as absolutely fantastic.

He said: "They were a brilliant multi-talented band who put on a really good show."

Mr Hanson said many people promised to come to Proms in the Farm when they heard that Five and Dime would be playing.

Proceeds of Saturday's concert were boosted by a grant from Barclays Bank's community fund.

Proms on the Farm will be on July 20. More information from promsonthefarm.co.uk.
