A charity fundraiser based at Airedale Hospital is limbering up to tackle a series of challenges – and is urging the public to join her.
Bronagh Daly is preparing to run, swim and walk in aid of the Steeton hospital. And she has secured 60 places for others to take part in the Jane Tomlinson events.
“Our focus is on buying new endoscopy equipment, but people can choose any ward or department to benefit from their fundraising,” she said.
The first event being tackled by the 35-year-old mother-of-two is a family walk, the Peaks Challenge on April 28. Other walks planned include several in the Lake District in September.
Running challenges begin with the Leeds Half Marathon on May 12. There are also 10k runs in Leeds, Hull and York. Swims include a 500 or 1,500-metre challenge at Pugneys Country Park, Wakefield, on June 23.
“I’m urging everyone, whatever their level of fitness, to get involved,” said Mrs Daly. “You can choose your event.”
Details of the events and registration forms can be found at airedale-trust. nhs.uk/WorkWithUs/charity/events. Further information can also be obtained from Mrs Daly on 07875 056577 or (01535) 294546.
The endoscopy fundraising appeal, launched at Christmas, aims to raise more than £60,000 for new equipment.
Donations can be made by texting ENDO60 followed by £ and the amount to 70070 or by visiting justgiving.com/ AiredaleEndoscopyChristmas Appeal.
