Bronte event at Red House Museum
1:00pm Tuesday 12th March 2013 in News
Red House Museum in Gomersal will host an afternoon talk on the Luddites and how they were featured in Charlotte Bronte’s novel Shirley.
The talk, Facts Into Fiction, will be given by amateur historian Jim Summerscales, who researched his own family tree and discovered an ancestor played a key role in the story.
It will run from 2pm-3.30pm on Sunday, April 21, and will include an introduction by Imelda Marsden from Kirklees Bronte Group.
Admission is £3, including refreshments, with all proceeds going to Red House Museum. The talk will be held in the barn, with access via steps.
