Weavers restaurant in Haworth to be converted into guesthouse

Weavers Weavers

A former restaurant that served the people of Haworth for 35 years will soon be converted into a guesthouse.

Bradford Council has approved a planning application, submitted by Dale Wilson, for the conversion of Weaver’s Restaurant (pictured) on West Lane into tourist accommodation.

The restaurant closed last month after owners Colin and Jane Rushworth, who ran the business since 1978, decided to retire.

But it will not be long before the building finds a new life supporting the village’s thriving tourist industry.

The restaurant already had guest rooms above it, but now the building will be devoted entirely to tourism.

Planning officers said: “The change of use would support tourism within the surrounding area and the proposal has been assessed as having an acceptable impact on the character and appearance of the Haworth Conservation Area.”
