The Lord Mayor of Bradford and Keighley MP Kris Hopkins were at the opening of a new-look Ilkley Post Office yesterday.
Councillor Dale Smith officially re-opened the town’s main post office, in Station Plaza, which recently closed for ten days for modernisation.
As well as a refit, the much-used central Post Office is now opening for long hours from Monday to Saturday.
Regional representatives of the Post Office were also at the opening ceremony, as well as one of the branch’s most loyal customers, Edith Kup, who is in her 90s.
The refitted shop includes a retail counter, two open-plan serving points, and two traditional style serving points with full screens.
