Bradford GP surgeries back No Smoking Day campaign
8:00am Saturday 9th March 2013 in News
GP surgeries in Bradford are supporting No Smoking Day on Wednesday by campaigning throughout the month.
The campaign is designed to help smokers who want to quit by highlighting the sources of help available.
Surgeries are promoting the message through poster boards and leaflets.
Nick Giles, of the Woodhead Road Surgery in Bradford, said: “As well as the financial benefits, there are obviously huge changes to overall health as stopping smoking cuts the risk of a stroke to that of a non-smoker after two to five years, and after ten years the risk of lung cancer reduces to half that of a smoker.”
