South Craven School, Cross Hills, to hold careers convention

Representatives from engineering firms, accountants and the Royal Navy will visit a school in the district next week to help pupils decide on a future career.

The careers convention is being staged at South Craven School in Cross Hills, near Keighley, on Wednesday, March 20.

A spokesman for the school said: “Not every student wants to go to university, but they do want choices when it comes to selecting a career.

“For many of them, finding out what is on offer can often be a difficult and bewildering process. With this in mind, we are putting on the convention which will feature employment specialists from a wide range of businesses.”

The event will also be open to non-South Craven School students. It will run from 9am to 5pm, and anyone wanting more information can contact Karen Higson on (01535) 639748.
