Choir taken on tour of St Paul's

Bradford Cathedral choirboys have returned from a trip to Cambridge and London.

In Cambridge they combined with the Chapel Choir of Magdalene College to sing Evensong in the College Chapel.

In London they visited St Paul’s Cathedral where Dean David Ison – former Dean at Bradford from 2005-2012 – took them on a tour of the Crypt, Song Room and Whispering Gallery before they sang Evensong at the Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy, attended by the Lord Mayor of Westminster.

On the way home, the boys visited Ely and sang at Southwell Minster – nobody realising at the time they were singing before the future Dean of Bradford, Canon Jerry Lepine.

Bradford Cathedral’s director of music Alex Woodrow said: “Our boys conducted themselves like professionals at all times.” There are a small number of vacancies for entry to the choir. Contact Mr Woodrow on 01274 777720.
