Bradford MP debates social care report
9:00am Wednesday 6th March 2013 in News
Bradford East MP David Ward
Bradford East MP David Ward yesterday took part in a Westminister Hall debate discussing his report into social care in his constituency.
The Liberal Democrat MP (pictured) was joined by Norman Lamb MP, minister of state for care and support, to talk about the research, with topics including the benefits that people in Bradford will receive from the Government’s lifetime cap on care costs from 2017.
Other issues highlighted in his research included the delays experienced by residents when trying to get adaptations to their homes to allow them to continue to live independently active lives as well as loneliness and isolation from care services in the community.
Mr Ward said: “I very much welcomed the opportunity to publicly thank all the members of the public that replied to my survey as well as the local groups and organisations that helped me pull together this research. Without their input this would not have been possible.”
Mr Lamb added: “It is a brilliant piece of work.”
