New figures show 120 benefit claimants in Bradford have set up their own business with the help of the Government’s New Enterprise Allowance.
Nationally, over six months, there has been an increase of 86 per cent of people joining the scheme, which gives entrepreneurial jobseekers the opportunity to have expert coaching and financial support to establish their own company – from 8,180 to 15,210.
Minister for Employment Mark Hoban said: “I'm delighted we’ve helped more than 15,000 jobseekers to set up their own business. Each week hundreds more businesses are being launched thanks to the mentoring and financial support we’re able to offer.
“We’re backing those prepared to put in the hard work to realise their dreams and make a success of themselves.”
