Businesses in this region are “ready, willing and very able” to help deliver the new HS2 high-speed rail network, says Keighley MP Kris Hopkins.

During questions in the Commons, he received a top-level assurance that ways of involving British firms in all aspects of the programme would be examined.

The controversial rail scheme will bring 225mph trains from London to Leeds and Manchester. Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlan told colleagues that a consultation would be launched this year.
