Bradford community champion gets Red Nose Day place

Former Yorkshirewoman of the Year Yvonne Oliver has won through to the final eight in a Comic Relief talent contest for would-be comedians.
The 60-year-old community champion, of Bradford, passed a boot camp audition in Sheffield for Stand Up If You Dare and will now be part of a fundraising show for Red Nose Day on Friday, March 15.
“I’ll be part of a charity show in a Sheffield theatre headlined by the comedian Dave Spikey on Red Nose Day itself,” she said.
“All the proceeds go to Comic Relief and I’ve got to get sponsorship for myself as well.”
