Tom Jones showcased at Bradford Cathedral event

The second Film Friday event at Bradford Cathedral showcases the adventure comedy, Tom Jones, directed by Shipley-born Tony Richardson.

Following the screening this Friday[mar 8] on 7.30pm, Cheryl Grant, Senior Lecturer Film Production, Northern Film School (Leeds) & BBC Radio Leeds Film Reviewer, will discuss the films of Tony Richardson and the 1960s British film industry.

Film Friday is a partnership between the Cathedral, Bradford City of Film and Cine Yorkshire.

Tickets cost £5 from the Cathedral office and on the door.

On April 19 Yorkshire Film Archive presents Bradford On Film, an evening of homemade and rare film focusing on the city in the 1960s which is being screened as part of the 19th Bradford International Film Festival.

A screening of the 1922 silent film Oliver Twist, with music accompaniment by the Cathedral’s assistant director of music, Jonathan Eyre, is also scheduled with funds going to the cathedral’s organ appeal.
