Bingley Little Theatre’s Star Appeal, raising funds for refurbishing the town’s arts centre, has received a £2,000 boost from local Freemasons.
Bingley Priory Lodge, on behalf of the West Riding Masonic Charities, donated the money to the appeal which has raised more than £10,000 since it was launched last summer.
Those who contributed to the appeal have had a star inscribed with their name or organisation added to a display board in Bingley Arts Centre.
Appeal organiser David Helliwell, vice chairman of Bingley Little Theatre, said: “Thanks to this generous gift and donations from the many other ‘Stars’ we now have enough money to install a much needed new cooling system.”
Alan Brayshaw, Worshipful Master of the Priory Lodge, said: “Many of our members are regular patrons of Bingley Little Theatre and we think it is doing a marvellous job improving the arts centre, which is a brilliant community resource.
“We are delighted to help with its refurbishment.”
