New one-way system near Keighley school
3:56pm Tuesday 26th February 2013 in News
A one-way system is being introduced outside a school.
Parents dropping children at Worth Valley Primary School, in Bracken Bank, Keighley, will have to drive along Bracken Bank Crescent in one direction.
A traffic regulation order will make official a one-way system voluntarily introduced by parents.
The measure has been welcomed by Bradford councillors representing Keighley West ward. Councillor Jan Smithies is now asking for a lay-by where parents could pull in to drop off children.
Coun Keith Dredge believed the new system will be safer for pupils. He said: “It’s a very narrow road and there are a lot of cars parked. Some of the houses have driveways and they have problems getting out.”
