The incident happened at 11.45am at the junction of Rooley Lane and Sangster Way and involved a white Peugeot Expert van.
The driver of the van - a man in his 60s from Bradford - was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the road for several hours to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The road, which was closed in both directions, reopened at about 3pm.
Anyone who saw the collision or saw the vehicle being driven beforehand is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
