Ban for Keighley driver over revoked licence

A home care assistant was caught driving with a licence that had been revoked two years earlier when she was stopped at Kildwick on the A629 on December 12, last year.

Janet Baines, who told Skipton magistrates yesterday that she was unaware her driving licence was no longer valid, was banned from driving for six months.

The 53-year-old, of Second Avenue, Keighley, pleaded guilty to driving without a licence and without insurance.

She was also fined £300, ordered to pay £30 victim surcharge and £45 court costs.
