Alloys thief arrested after hiding behind bins in Wyke

A man has been arrested in Bradford after being spotted jacking-up an Audi A5 and stealing its alloy wheels.

Police on patrol in Wyke were called to the incident on Clay Hill Drive and soon found the suspect hiding behind a bin storage unit. He had two stolen wheels.

A police spokesman said: “He was arrested and the wheels were recovered. The car was further down the street suspended on wheel jacks.”

Officers thanked the person who reported the incident to them. The spokesman added: “It is important that if you witness a crime in progress to call the police.

“The man was caught in the act, has now been charged with the offence and will be appearing in court soon.”
