Mission volunteers help plant trees

Volunteers in Bradford have planted 750 trees as part of a global conservation project.

Worshippers from the Yorkshire branch of the Sant Nirankari Mission in Napier Street joined forces with Bradford Environmental Action Trust and local community volunteers to plant the trees at Beck House Farm, Addingham.

The Sant Nirankari Mission, a spiritual organisation which originated in India, holds a global conservation initiative each February.

Lead volunteer Mohinder Ram said: “Serving others is a way of giving something back to the community. Volunteers as young as six years old helped plant trees in Addingham with the Forest of Bradford.

“This initiative helps us to conserve our environment for the future of our children.”
