Aids for the blind set to be in Shipley
12:00pm Friday 22nd February 2013 in News
Vibrating bank note detectors and talking microwaves are some of the latest aids carried by Action for Blind People’s mobile Sight Loss Information Service which will visit Shipley in February.
The service will open its doors to people interested in or affected by visual impairment and the mobile carries the latest technology and gadgets to improve daily life.
Staff will offer friendly advice on gadgets such as the bank note detector which scans notes, then vibrates to show how much they are worth.
Jean Slater from Action for Blind People’s Sight Loss Information Service said, “Everybody is welcome to come along to visit us on the mobile.”
The mobile unit will be at Wellcroft, near Shipley Library on Thursday.
