Andrew is top dog at winter sale
12:00pm Friday 22nd February 2013 in News By Telegraph & Argus
A dog bred by Silsden man Andrew Throup collared the top price at a winter sale of working sheep dogs.
The 21-month-old black and white bitch Marchup Fly sold for £3,150 at the event at Skipton Auction Mart.
Fly was the last to be sold by Mr Throup, of Middle Marchup Farm, from the nine-strong Marchup litter.
It went to a buyer on the north-west coast of Scotland and will be used as a working dog on Suffolk and Texel-cross sheep.
The sale also saw 12-week-old Beverton Macs – owned by Beverley Fort (pictured), of Brighton House Farm, Steeton – go for £787.50 to retired Pendle farmer Jack Greenbank.
