No police probe over bullying video
7:04pm Wednesday 20th February 2013 in News
Police are not pursuing an investigation into a video posted online of a violent attack by one schoolgirl on another.
A police spokesman said the victim, a 14-year-old girl, did not want to press charges.
Officers were called after the one minute 37 second clip, showing a girl being pulled towards the ground by her hair and thumped at Beckfoot School, was posted on Facebook.
The video was accompanied by a jeering message when it was put online on February 13, the day after the incident.
The secondary school, in Bingley, received complaints form angry members of the public shocked by its content.
Head teacher David Horn said the school did not tolerate violence.
The police spokesman added that officers would still be involved as part of the force’s partnership work with schools.
