The author of the popular Horrid Henry children’s books met budding young writers in Bradford.
Francesca Simon was at the National Media Museum, which has teamed up with book publishers Orion to become ‘Horrid Henry’s House of Horrors’ for half-term.
Francesca read some of her favourite Horrid Henry stories and was joined by winners of a writing competition, held in collaboration with Bradford Libraries and the Bradford Family Learning Team.
Entrants created their own monsters inspired by Horrid Henry’s Monster Movie, and the winning entries are displayed on nationalmediamuseum.org.uk.
Other half-term activities at the museum include video workshops featuring Horrid Henry illustrator Tony Ross, visitors filming their own monster animation and learning about special effects, and Horrid Henry’s Horror Display. There is also chance to meet Horrid Henry ‘in person’ until Sunday.
