Vehicle seized in traffic operation in Bradford

A vehicle was seized by customs officials for using red diesel during a crackdown in Manningham, Bradford, today.

Sixty vehicles were randomly stopped in Lilycroft Road and tested for the tax-free fuel, which cannot legally be used on public highways.

The operation run by the police, Trading Standards, the DVLA and Revenue and Customs officers, also saw two vehicles seized for not having tax discs, nine drivers given tickets for not wearing seatbelts and one person reported to the court on suspicion of driving while disqualified.

Two vehicles were seized because they were not insured, one driver was given a ticket for not having an MOT and one was given a ticket for having a loose battery.
