Lift rescue at Pudsey residential home
8:00am Tuesday 19th February 2013 in News
An elderly woman in a wheelchair and two paramedics had to be rescued from a broken lift in a retirement home. Firefighters from Stanningley were called to Acacia Court residential home in Pudsey at 5.30am yesterday. A fire service spokesman said the elderly woman was being taken to hospital by the paramedics when the interior doors of the lift came off their hinges, trapping all three inside. He said all three had been rescued safely and the paramedics had been caring for the woman while they were stuck.
